We left Grong on 5th June and drove to Trondheim to take a plane to Sandefjord. We left in blazing sunshine and arrived in the pouring rain. We stayed with our friends Anna and Leif for the duration of our stay as well as seeing friends that we had not seen for many years. We actually lived in Sandefjord between 1999 and 2001 when we moved to Denmark.

It was good to see everyone and we were spoilt with the places we visited. We began with a visit to a cabin on an island in Langesund fjord where our friend Tove (with boyfriend Tom) have a beautiful cabin.

They came to collect us (Svein, Anne Merete and Bente) in their boat and we had a short ride to the cabin. The girls had not seen us for 6 years so it was a lively reunion late into the night

The next day was spent lazing around, swimming (in 14 C water) and generally catching up whilst Svein went kayaking.

Back in Sandefjord we also saw our goods friends Mariann and Bjorn who live in a fabulous flat overlooking Sandefjord harbour with their sailboat moored underneath.

The evenings we were not visiting people Anna and Leif fed us up on Scandinavian specialities cooked on a smoking grill and this included reindeer.

We have had superb weather for the duration of our stay. It really is summer in Norway. We leave tomorrow to travel to Oslo airport and take a very early flight on Thursday back to Greece and Escapade. Our visit here is nearly over but we will be back next year and there is another confirmation in the family!!!!
