We had a well earned swim and then went ashore to have a meal at the local taverna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4430-e1764341018620.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4434-e1764341047150.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We went to bed early as we had decided to round the 3rd tip of the Peloponnese and head straight to Milos. This was to be a all day trip so we were up very early and headed out at 5am. We saw the sunrise over\u00a0 Agios Maleas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4435-e1764341091831.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We motor sailed for 13 hours and as the wind was quite fickle Svein was kept busy adjusting the sails and reefing in the main. We even sailed without a genoa at one stage as the wind picked. It was also quite bumpy at times so much so that we felt a bit like a cork bobbing round on the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4438-e1764341136758.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4441-e1764341166919.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We reached Milos after a very long day and around 6pm we were moored off the town quay settled in to wait out the big blow that was forecast. We are hooked up to electricity and water and Caryn has taken the opportunity of catching up on the washloads (3 in all). We have explored the town and found some beaches within walking distance. We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here with an excellent dinner in a local taverna that served really unusual Greek dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4456-e1764341209537.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We also visited a fascinating photo exhibition held in tunnels running under the town of Adamos. These were used by the Germans during the 2nd World War. One of the areas was even blocked off and filled with water in which there was a case of wine cooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4462-e1764341273921.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4466-e1764341299435.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4470-e1764341328950.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We sat out the big blow over several days and read a great deal and even knitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4479-e1764341398164.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4479.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><\/a>Today we hired a buggy and went exploring the island whilst waiting for the last of the strong winds to drop. We drove to the south of the island and visited two beaches Provatas and Paleochori. We lunched at the first and swam and relaxed at the second. Once back in town Svein continued to explore the capital of the island Plaka before returning the buggy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4481-e1764341464184.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4484-e1764341498794.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4489-e1764341543526.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4491-e1764341583905.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4493-e1764341633252.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sycestlavie.com\/escapade\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSCN4494-e1764341683119.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Today it is a year since we lost C\u2019est la Vie in a fire at Leros.
